Working with Elizabeth Pickett, we produced this panel for the John Strutt Conservation Foundation. The charity owns and manages a length of the old Stainmore Railway as a nature reserve. An impressive cutting through limestone reveals the interesting local geology and has become an important wildlife habitat. Along with the fascinating story of the railway, and the stunning view, there was a lot of information to fit on one panel.
Sleeper-style uprights and specially designed ‘waggon plates’ hint at the railway heritage.
