Client: Elsdon Parish Church/Revitalising Redesdale Project
This was a bit of a different job. I was asked to come up with a new way of displaying three horse skulls kept in a small glass-fronted cupboard in a dark corner of the church. The skulls were found in the belltower of Elsdon Church in the late 19th century and why they were put there is a mystery. I worked with Geoff Jackson of Langley Furniture to design a new cabinet, made from English ash. The cabinet is lit by two LED spots powered by a 5v chargeable powerbank (usb) with an PIR motion-sensor to switch the lights on when a visitor approaches. Elsdon resident Jo Scott worked with the local creative writing group and historians to produce the text.
