Client: Killhope, the North of England Mining Museum
Working with Elizabeth Pickett we produced a small display for a corner of an existing exhibition. The challenge was to make use of an antique desk and come up with an interactive piece interpreting the geology of a typical North Pennine landscape. We decided to treat the whole area as though it was a Victorian Geologist’s desk. A painted landscape with acrylic overlays shows the underlying geology and the original the drawers in the desk contain actual rock samples for visitors to handle.
